Alesandra Seutin | Vocab Dance is auditioning for a new Sadler's Wells production. We are inviting highly skilled and experienced contemporary male and female dancers of black heritage / diverse backgrounds to be part of a new work.

Audition requirements

We are searching for versatile, open-minded dancers, with a high level of artistry, integrity and with a collaborative approach to creation.

Applicants must meet all of the following essential criteria: Over 25 years old and trained in Contemporary, Ballet and Jazz techniques with over 3 years professional/performance experience, physically strong and have experience of working with the voice.

Where: The audition, by invitation only, will be held in London.
When: Saturday 27 January 2018, with recalls on Sunday 28 January 2018.

We request all of the following: your complete CV, a short bio (3-10 sentences), a short letter of motivation, to explain your desire to work with Alesandra Seutin | Vocab Dance (3-10 sentences), 2 pictures of which 1 should be a portrait and the other a full body photo and an online film links / uploaded videos to previous work by email.

The period of employment will include rehearsals and performances in London. It is crucial
that applicants are available for all the following dates: 19 - 24 May 2018 (R&D), 27 August - 1 September 2018, 17 - 28 September 2018 (rehearsals), 1 - 5 October 2018 (production week), 7 - 13 October 2018 (show week) and are to explicitly confirm their availability for the above period.

Gary Clarke Company (UK)

Choreographer Gary Clarke requires a highly skilled male dancer to join Gary Clarke Company for the Spring 2018 tour of the critically acclaimed mid-scale dance theatre production COAL

Winner of a UK Theatre Award and a Critics Circle National Dance Award, COAL is a riveting piece of dance theatre which takes a nostalgic look at the hard-hitting realities of life at the coal face. Described by The Times as 'Outstanding,' the production involves a company of professional dancers, live brass bands, community participants and a strong design and production team. The successful artist will be required to:

• Successfully learn the repertoire from COAL from an existing role.
• Perform COAL at various mid-scale theatre venues in spring 2018 (6 shows in total).
• Perform sections of COAL at site-specific locations linked to each venue and area
• Deliver COAL workshops at schools, colleges and universities nationwide.
• Work with and alongside groups of community women from each venue/regions integrated into the show.


• 15 January 2018 - Site visit to The National Coal Mining Museum of England
• 29th January to 2nd February - Rehearsals in London
• 3rd February to 16th February. UK Touring (there are flexibility within these dates)
• 2nd March to 29th March 2018 - UK and Scottish Touring (there are flexibility within these dates)
• 6th - 11th May 2018 - European Festival


£500 per week x 8 weeks engagement (£4000) plus holiday pay, additional travel, accommodation and per diems covered. Gary Clarke contracts performers using ITC / Equity Agreements and has a House Agreement with Equity.


A very strong contemporary dance technique, strong floor work technique, a strong physical build, strong physical theatre skills, experience in highly physical work, good contact and partnering skills, very good stamina, good improvisation and creative skills, good musicality, confidence in text work, the ability to connect with very emotionally driven work, a willingness and openness to work with the community / non-dancers, a good working attitude, a good sense of humour, the ability to collaborate and work well as a team, the ability to work well under pressure, confidence and experience in delivering education and outreach work, a full DBS check

Luke Murphy-Attic Projects (Ireland/New York City)

Luke Murphy is seeking a range of Male and Female performers for projects throughout 2018 and 2019. Projects include replacements for international touring of The Dust We Raised, a new site-specific work for Cork Midsummer Festival and research weeks in Summer 2018 towards two new creations in 2019.

Seeking experienced professionals with strong physicality, presence and an affinity for theatrical work. All opportunities are paid + travel and accommodation if required.

Kamea Dance Company is a major company in the Israeli dance scene, holding around 80
performances a year in Israel and abroad with a contemporary modern repertoire by resident choreographer Tamir Ginz and guest choreographers: Nacho Duato & Marco Goecke.

We are looking for exceptional talents with and strong ballet and modern technique. Age: over 20. Creative dancer, highly motivated, serious attitude and a strong commitment to the job.
