Gabbie Cook & Nat Whittingham (UK) Acrobatics Workshops
Category: workshop, Closes on January 28, 2018
Moving Through Acrobatics // Dance & Acrobatics Workshop with Gabbie Cook & Nat Whittingham. Gabbie and Nat are offering 1-day and 2-day workshops in several locations across the UK. The workshops are a training opportunity for those interested in movement, floorwork and acrobatics.
Participants will gain an insight into how Gabbie and Nat train and research movement that lends itself to acrobatics, allowing the two disciplines to blend together. We'll be breaking down floorwork combinations and techniques taken from breakdance and capoeira, as well as acrobatic figures from Nat and Gabbie's research.
The aim is to make acrobatics accessible to DANCERS, so they can use the strength and coordination they already have in inverted and unfamiliar movements. Likewise, it will provide ACROBATS with creative tools and techniques, taken from dance, to feel how release-based work can influence their movement style and acrobatic aesthetic. This workshop, however, is open to ALL movers and you're encouraged to come and train, knowing that you can work safely and progress!
